KernelGolf — design directions

A, B and C carry identical copy and data, so what you're comparing is the design. D is a different question — it carries the roofline content model on C's aesthetic.

Roofline new content

D

Three fixed targets — 5090, 7900 XTX, M4 Max — with generated vs hand-tuned ASM as categories. Ranked on prefill and decode as a fraction of each ceiling, gated on verification. Numbers are placeholder.

Thermal Glass

A

Frosted panels over a drifting aurora built from an nvidia-smi heat ramp. Film grain under the glass so it has something to refract. The most immediately impressive of the three.

Scorecard

B

Ink on stock. The hero is a printed golf scorecard, best scores circled in pencil red like a real birdie. Reads as a standards body rather than a startup — and ages best.

Phosphor

C

Amber CRT, not hacker-green. The course is a directory listing; the scope trace draws a real kernel launch profile — ramp, occupancy, drain. Biggest risk, most native to the audience.
